ABOUT

House of Focus provides a range of services targeted to women and their families who have been affected by substance abuse and have encountered a setback in their recovery and rehabilitation. The services provided in this program promote the selection of positive choices and life skills that empower women in their daily lives as they transition back into society.

House of Focus is an out patient program that allows women to spend four hours per day in focus groups and support sessions. The programs are conducted by certified counselors and reinforced by graduate peers of the program. The central focus of the program is to provide a safe, nurturing environment that fosters the development, growth and maintenance of skill sets that are learned at the program and practiced at home.

TARGET CLIENT PROFILE

The population served by the House of Focus is:

Women with DSM-5 Diagnosis of Substance Abuse Disorder
Clients must be at least 18 years of age with substance abuse as a barrier to employment.
Detoxification and inpatient must be met prior to admission.

Priority will be given to women who are pregnant, TANF recipient, and who are in a condition to benefit most from the services and opportunities offered through this program. All services are covered by state contract and forms of Medicaid.

Federal regulations give priority admissions to certain populations in the following order: Pregnant injecting drug users, other pregnant drug users, other injecting drug users, and all other users (including pregnant women that are actively taking opiate substitute).
